'The threat of Doomsday' Got To Disturb Android Phone


JAKARTA - Symantec continues to see increasing number of new malware threats that target mobile devices like smart phones.

The latest discovery is Android.Smspacem, which is a version of the official application Trojanized "Holy F ** king Bible".

The interesting thing about this threat is the existence of a relationship with the date May 21, 2011 and the latest news on speculation that the apocalypse will appear on that day. So that was launched its official statement on Monday (5/30/2011).

On this date, malicious programs automatically start replying SMS messages sent to devices that are infected with the following inscription: "Can not talk now, the world will end."

Then randomly select one of several similar messages that have been determined and start sending the message to all contacts that exist in the user's contacts list. All messages that appear provides information speculation that the apocalypse will happen on that day.

Threats are also trying to contact the hosting service and tried to perform a command remotely. Finally, the threat is changing the wallpaper of infected devices to multiple images that have been determined.

Because this threat is spreading in the Android market that there is no regulation, the main factor that reduces the threat is to ensure that the device is configured to prevent the downloading of applications from places other than the official Android website. This configuration is standard on most devices.
