Paula Patton Eyes 'SVU' Role

With Sharon Stone's four-episode arc over, 'Law & Order: SVU' is turning to 'Precious' co-star Paula Patton to become its new Assistant District Attorney, according to sources for the Ausiello Files.

Patton would join a long list of actresses who have played the ADA on the show, including Stone, Stephanie March, Diane Neal, Michaela McManus and Angie Harmon.

Patton is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Ms. Rain, a teacher and mentor to the titular character in last year's Oscar-winning 'Precious.'
Patton was last seen opposite Queen Latifah and Common in the romantic comedy 'Just Wright' from Fox Searchlight, which opened in theaters in May. She is also reportedly set to star as a female pimp in the movie 'This Wednesday,' scored by her husband, Robin Thicke, and in talks to star in another romantic comedy, 'Jumping the Broom.'
